Welcome to STAR

This blog was created as a tool to keep our parents and families informed about what is going on in our classroom. We hope you visist often! Mrs. Permuy, Ms. Davoli and I have really enjoyed getting to know our new S.T.A.R. students in these first few days. Our returning "STAR"s have helped us out by setting an example for those new to the program. We have high expectations for our students! S.T.A.R. stands for "Students Taking Academic Responsibility"... each child will be held accountable for their effort and behavior every day.
Open house will be held this Thursday, September 4, at 7:00p.m. We are looking forward to greeting old friends and meeting new faces.
Thank you for choosing to play an active role in your child's education....

Do you think that it would be possible for you to post each weeks spelling words on your blog? My son is very forgetful and it would help a lot.
Thanks

Great questions. Every Friday students are given a spelling list. Part of their spelling assignment is to copy the words into their planner.

I would be more than happy to write the HW on the blog. However, students are also responsible for copying the assignments into their planner daily. Aside from content, HW assignments don't vary from week to week.

Planners should be checked daily and initialed. This is another great way for us to communicate.

Reading is assigned on a daily basis. Students should read a minimum of 15 min. and fill out the YELLOW reading log and have a parent sign initial.

Spelling is assigned daily and all HW should be in the BLUE spelling folder.
Monday- 3x each
Tuesday- ABC order
Wednesday- Sentences 1-10
Thursday- Sentences 11-20
Friday- Spelling test, copy new words into planner.

I hope this information helps. I'll try to be MUCH better at updating our class blog!

Have a wonderful week,
Mrs. Clause
