I certainly don't mind doing this however, part of our goal in S.T.A.R is for you child to take A-Academic R-Responsibility.  Please make sure you are checking and initialing the planner daily as the assignments and spelling words should be written in there.  The planner is checked daily by a teacher and is used as another great way for us to communicate. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Students are assigned HW each night in Math, Spelling and Reading.  BLUE Spelling folders should go home every night.  Spelling assignments do not vary from week to week only the words.     Students should be reading a minimum of 15 min. nightly and recording their reading in the YELLOW reading log.   Students are also asked to get a parent signature.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Don't forget, next Thursday is Family Literacy Night...Sept. 25. We hope you visist often! Mrs. Permuy, Ms.  Davoli and I have really enjoyed getting to know our new S.T.A.R. students in  these first few days. Our returning "STAR"s have helped us out by setting an  example for those new to the program. We have high expectations for our  students!
